For those enjoying the scenic route via the A39 coastal road over Exmoor from Minehead and Porlock to the East, enter Lynmouth at the bottom of the steep Countisbury Hill, cross the East Lyn river bridge and turn immediately left into Watersmeet Road. You will see Bonnicott House about 50 metres up on your right, opposite the church.
For those approaching on the A39 from the West, you can reach Lynmouth by keeping to the A39 and taking the scenic route over the valley head and past Watersmeet. The A39 becomes Watersmeet Road as it enters Lynmouth. We are on the left hand side, but look for the car park and St Johns village church on the right as your marker. This is the preferred and less steep route for coaches, caravans, camper vans and the like.
For an alternative and quicker route when approaching on the A39 from the West, turn left at the petrol station on the A39 at it’s junction with the B3234, signposted Lynton and Lynmouth. Ignore the left hand forks for Lynton and keep to the B3234 through Lynbridge. Upon entering Lynmouth at the bottom of the steep Lynmouth Hill, turn right into Watersmeet Road. You will see Bonnicott House about 50 metres up on your right, opposite the church.
